For example, how about a day scrambling
various grades in Coniston and only 10 minutes
from the car this spring?

Ghyll
scambling
Ghyll, clough, stream, gorge
- they all have different names throughout the
country, but scambling them involves ascending
the rock beds in a uniquely British
atmosphere and situation.
Our desire to find new climbs on this crowded
island has dragged hill walkers and mountaineers
into these depths to sample a unique
experience.
Dry weather usually neccessary but not essential !

Ghyll
jumps and slides
The
course title says it all really!
Full immersion ghylls where staying dry is not
an option. The Lake District provides numerous
locations (Stoneycroft Gorge, Esk Gorge or Church Beck) which cater for various water levels,
prevailing weather and those who like HUGE
jumps, slides, wet
abseils, scenic gorge floats
(?!). The choice is yours.
