The
foundation for the quality of instruction provided
is due to my near 20 years of playing and working
in the outdoors with a wide variety of friends
and clientele of all ages, needs and abilities.
Having lived and worked in Sheffield, Fort William
and the Lake District and climbed throughout
Britain, my knowledge of the hills and mountains
of this island is vast.
My thirst for adventure has also taken me over
to continental Europe, Scandinavia, Morocco, Nepal
and New Zealand.
Favourite
outdoor moments.
The
water cloughs of Kinder Scout, Peak District
Simple,
lolloping rock scrambles onto a dome of messy
black peat.
Bowfell
Buttress, Langdale - VD
Lovely climb especially with
the planned bivvy at half height.
Moss Gill Grooves, Scafell Crag - MVS
What a route and as it was climbed at 7 in the morning meant that nobody else was around. Wonder why?!.
Bludgers
Revelation, Glen Coe - HVS
A
superb route of character, history, variety, situation
etc,etc.
Rigor Mortis, Castle Rock, Thirlmere - E2
All three pitches provide truely excellent climbing.
Curved Ridge, Glen Coe - II/III
In winter, this route overlooks a white blanket covering Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor.
Winter
traverse of the Black Cuillin Ridge, Isle of Skye
- IV
Two
and half days of sheer wonder. No food dumps or
support. Just sack, pack & go!
Water
ice falls of Rjukan and Hemsedal, Norway - WI
2 > 5
The
people, the country, the walk-ins. Difficult to
beat.
